I don't ever write reviews but I have to say that this book is an amazing piece of art. It is honestly one of the best books I've ever read on topics such as the Wild Hunt. Without the overly complicated fluffs and languages presented by many occult books out there. This book is better than many elitist folkloric occult books out there claiming to sell a "true path of sorcery" and things of the sort. Its just raw and pure information right there and a very accessible price. Yes it is a thin book but it has everything it needs, it really does. What I liked the most about it is that the author leads you to develop your own experiences but guides you on how to exactly put the ideas into your personal practice. The folkloric information on welsh lore is captivating and fascinating. You won't find any other books like this. This book will lead you to truly feel Gwyn in nature all around you. I felt admiration for this deity for a very long time and knew of his connection to the fae and the underworld, but this book deepened my passion for Gwyn. Such a mysterious god, but ever so present. He has such a beautiful and intriguing mythology...This book is precious. I'm in love with it. I'm really impressed by it. And this review does not do it justice!
I gave this three stars because it came quickly. I really thought this might have more origins, history or stories about Gwn ap Nudd, I was disappointed that it was more about worshipping and "feeling" close to the god, which isn't what I was looking for.
This book was invaluable in researching the mythos of Glastonbury Tor and Gwyn ap Nudd. Although it isn't a large book, it does contain some valuable information (much of which is taken from original documents that are centuries old), as well as some easy to perform rituals and meditations to connect with the titular deity. Great for anyone researching Welsh mythology or the folklore of Glastonbury.
Excellent book about a mythology and God not commonly known, I recommend to anyone interested in liminal gods, Welsh mythology and for people who are just curious, great information in this book.
So much to learn.
This approach to an old god rounds out the Fayerie mythos nicely.

Gwyn ap Nudd by Danu Forest from John Hunt publishing is part of the Pagan Portals series. It's a practical well researched history and magical meditation guide. It's written in a clear and understandable manner, well laid out in an easy to follow, logical format.Each of the chapters conclude with two or more practical exercises to increase the reader's awareness and spiritual growth. These are short practical guides which the reader can apply to his/her own life.The book begins with an introduction and background. The second - fifth chapters retell and expand on Gwyn ap Nudd in story and song down through the ages, including the Mabinogion and the wild hunt. Each of the chapters includes exercises for further exploration.The author's voice is soothing and easy to follow.A quote: Seek him in the reflections of starlight upon deep still water, and when you hear an owl screech in the night, or see the geese fly overhead on winter evenings … know that he is close. Close your eyes and feel the air on your skin, the promise of things unseen just a breath away. The author is also a poetess and it shows in her careful gentle use of language. The book is very soothing and enjoyable to read, whatever the reader's belief system and motivation in choosing to read it.The book is well researched enough to be appropriate support material for readers interested in the early pagan beliefs and oral traditions of the early British Isles as well as those interested in meditation and self exploration and internal spiritual growth.An interesting and unusual read.Four stars for the moving and lovely prose.Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher.
